Network Suite - Revelation and MS Windows Networks
In today’s business world, getting the most out of precious resources is a
primary concern to every business. The Revelation Windows 2000 Service
(formerly called the NT Service) is designed to improve performance,
functionality and data integrity, and to reduce network errors for
OpenInsight and Advanced Revelation applications on a Windows 2000 or NT
Server.
Features
Earlier Revelation locking methods used a Byte Range Locking scheme that
designates a single file as a Lock Table. The Revelation Windows 2000
Service provides a central clearinghouse for all locks on the server - only
the Windows 2000 Service can physically access the files, protecting them
from accidental damage from the network, workstation, or the user.
Through its client/server-like communications strategy, the Revelation
Windows 2000 Service reduces network traffic, provides increased speed and
protects files from network errors that appear as Group Format Errors (GFEs),
as well as network administrator utilities, and statistical information to
monitor and enhance your application performance.
Benefits
- The Revelation Windows 2000 Service is the optimal solution for
providing your Windows 2000/NT Server-based application with greater
stability and performance.
- The Revelation Windows 2000 Service enables you to improve performance
without having to modify your application.
- The Revelation Windows 2000 Service enables Advanced Revelation
applications to run under Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows NT.
