Revelation Software Purchase Freedombase Web Ready

Revelation Software have announced that it has purchased Freedombase Web Ready, a web development suite from Freedomsoft, for inclusion into its OpenInsight database development product.

Freedombase Web Ready is a quick and easy way to add Web front ends to existing OpenInsight applications, providing a fast and cost effective means of rejuvenating existing or legacy systems, and retaining the investment that those systems represent.

Revelation will rebrand the purchased Freedombase product as WebOI in order to eliminate any confusion between the two products.

OpenInsight V8.03 released

Revelation Software proudly announce the release of OpenInsight V8.03. This upgrade can be applied to OpenInsight V8.0 or above.

OI v8.03 includes over 75 fixes and enhancements including major enhancements to the OengineSocketServer, OECGI2 CGI internet gateway and AREV32.

Revelation Software have also introduced a new Authorization Code system in this version. This new system is designed to streamline the process of adding user licenses to deployed OpenInsight systems. As of V8.03, you will be able to add user licenses to an existing OpenInsight application by entering an Authorization code supplied by Revelation Software.

Current OpenInsight Works subscribers can download the upgrade from the Works section on www.revelation.com

Revelation Software releases the Universal Driver Release 4.0

Revelation Software is proud to announce the release of the Universal Driver 4.0 as part of their network product suite.

The Universal Driver 4.0 is client/server software designed to operate on Microsoft Windows Network Operating System environments. UD 4.0 provides enhanced performance, reliability, and integrity for OpenInsight and Advanced Revelation applications using linear hash files.

“UD 4.0 includes a console application to help network administrators manage the integrity of their application and data.” said Michael Ruane, President and CEO of Revelation Software. “We have also included backward compatibility with all previous versions of linear hash.”

The 4.0 release of the Universal Driver is for Windows-based platforms only. New to the product is a console application to manage record locks, backward compatibility with all previous versions of linear hash and automatic registry configuration.
